Turquoise Valley / Herve Lenouvel

Turquoise Valley by French painter Herve Lenouvel highlights his signature abstract approach to contemporary landscape painting. The emotional impact and feeling of the scene is emphasized over strict realism.
In this piece, Lenouvel utilizes a bold, cool-toned palette to create a sense of vast, open space as if cresting a hill looking down into a lush valley. The strong impasto technique adds a physical presence to the work, giving form and depth.
